Gals on the Go Project’s mission is to improve the social and emotional well-being of children and adolescents through prevention and resiliency building workshops and other programs. Our fun and interactive workshops focus on topics such as healthy relationships, resiliency building, effective coping strategies, confidence boosting, calming anxiety, and many others.

Volunteers 13 years and older may participate. We need volunteers to help during the workshops to help them run smoothly, as well as some admin things throughout the year, like stuffing envelopes, reorganizing, etc

Life's Connection

Children & Youth Family Support Health & Medical Mental Health

Life’s Connection is a life-affirming nonprofit dedicated to supporting pregnant women, children, and families through pregnancy, parenting, and times of loss. We provide free, compassionate services including pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, counseling, parenting education, and material support, as well as specialized care for families facing miscarriage, stillbirth, and infant loss.
Serving over 2,000 families each year, our mission is to walk alongside families with dignity, hope, and unconditional support at every stage of life.

Volunteer opportunities are available for adults, teens, school groups, and community organizations, clubs, and adult groups.

Wildlife in Need Center

Animals

Wildlife in Need Center’s mission is to provide wildlife rehabilitation to Wisconsin wildlife with the intent to release back to the native habitat, conduct research designed to further the positive impact of rehabilitation, and provide quality community education programs and services.

Volunteers 15 years and older may participate independently, while youth ages 12–14 can volunteer alongside a parent or guardian

Humane Animal Welfare Society (HAWS)

Animals

The Humane Animal Welfare Society of Waukesha County leads the community in animal welfare and assures sanctuary for animals in need. HAWS provides educational programs plus fun activities for all ages!

Volunteer: Anyone age 16 and older can volunteer! We also encourage kids 13-15 to volunteer alongside a parent. We also LOVE when kids and their families hold drives or do projects to support HAWS, like cookie sales, lemonade stands, penny wars and more!

The Women's Center

Basic Needs Family Support

The Women’s Center welcomes and serves all survivors of all ages, recognizing that their unique experience informs the perspective of each person. ur mission is to provide safety, shelter and support to empower all impacted by domestic abuse, sexual violence, child abuse and trafficking. Our vision is to create an engaged community that does not tolerate or accept interpersonal violence and provides abundant resources to ensure futures free from violence.

Volunteer: We don't offer any in-person volunteer opportunities for under-18s due to confidentiality reasons. However, we will have groups or individuals who are under 18 do off-site volunteering for us throughout the year in the form of drives, putting kits together, or hosting off-site fundraisers. We just ask that the organizers reach out to Alex ahead of time to find out what our greatest needs are.

The Hope Center

Basic Needs Family Support

The Hope Center is a non-profit organization that has been serving the basic needs of financial assistance, food, and clothing in Waukesha County for more than thirty years. Our mission is to reduce the risks of poverty by helping people in Waukesha County meet basic needs.

Volunteer: In-person volunteers must be at least 16 years old to volunteer alone. Children under 16 need a parent or guardian with them. There needs to be one parent/guardian per child under 10 years old.

Angel Babies of WI

Family Support

Our mission is turning old wedding gowns into Angel Baby garments for those little ones who are carried Home in the arms of Angels. We serve all of WI, sending gowns to hospitals and funeral homes. We serve families who have suffered miscarriages and stillborn deliveries.

To support us, we offer workshops around WI. They are posted on our FB page as events. Attending a workshop. At workshops, people help to cut up gowns and /or sew or learn to sew gowns. Some people volunteer to knit/crochet hats and blankets as well.

This is child appropriate for older kids who can sew or would like to learn to sew. (age depends on maturity level to use scissors and sewing matching)
